When you connect with people we authentically like, admire or respect, it elevates how we feel about ourselves. Staying connected requires effort and time. In our daily routines, it is easy to feel we don’t have time for one more commitment, and let connections slip away.
People and our connections, however, are at the core of everything. They are the reasons we do what we do (good or not so good). They inspire, anger, care and teach us so much about ourselves and our lives. Therefore, it is crucial to (re)connect regularly. Like everything, having authentic connections takes intentionality and a desire to do so. In making that choice, we allow ourselves the space to grow, support and feel supported. All of which give us more stability, security and confidence.
Who have you let slip away? What professional or client relationship have you not nurtured or lost sight of? What old friend or relative you had an affinity for but lost touch with?
Today, reach out to one (1) person that you want to connect with and be vulnerable. Tell them why they matter to you (or your business) and why you care, want to (re)connect or are inspired by them.
