It takes courage to get out of our comfort zone and identify areas we wish to improve on. Doing so publicly or with a team can make for an added layer of discomfort. When this happens, there must be a willingness to stay positive and an awareness to acknowledge oneself for the effort. Being authentic and honest is most important.
When we dig deep & show vulnerability it’s necessary to balance it with introspection and quiet. Giving ourselves space to process what we are working on and the emotions we feel helps solidify the shifts we are looking to implement. It also creates stronger bonds with those we share experiences with.
There are no rights or wrongs in how we approach personal growth. Likewise, there should be no judgment of how others handle it. An environment of non-judgment is how we can establish safe spaces of development and growth for both individuals and teams, resulting in an overall happier, more aligned company culture.
Today, take a little quiet time for yourself. Think about what you are choosing to focus on and how you plan on being intentional around that work. Remember to have compassion and curiosity with those around you, as they are also having their own growth experiences to deal with and learn from.
