Simplification in life and business enhances the essentials, while allowing time for the important. There are multiple perspectives on what this could looks like. What is universal however, are the feelings of freedom or peace that comes along with it.
This is easier said than done.
The short method is identifying what’s most important and eliminating everything else. Most of us struggle with this process.
Another approach, and one where success is more likely, is taking each area of your life and identifying how to reduce clutter. This will allow for space to enjoy and appreciate the time, people and things you find pertinent. The “clutter” may be physical, mental or even external pressures or commitments.
Start with 2 or 3 things you’d like to tackle. By keeping it manageable and creating routines, you will stay motivated to continue with the other areas.
Being simple elevates being present. Being present brings more joy, satisfaction and connection in life and work.
Use the rest of summer to identify and simplify. From decluttering drawers to deciding when to engage in social media to scheduling when you check emails, to becoming selective in what social commitments you say yes to. These are all methods to create more presence in your day to day life and business.
