In letting go of the past and growing into the self we want to be, we shift into radical acceptance of who we are.
This requires acknowledging reality even when we disagree. Fighting against what was or is, only creates suffering. While pain may be inevitable in our lives, suffering is optional.
By accepting and surrendering to the situations we’ve been given, we can move beyond them. Allowing for peaceful action and problem solving.
Rather than judging the past, we allow it to be. In turn our reactions are less intense and solutions palpable.
When we practice radical acceptance of ourselves and others we are able to move forward. We can take responsibility now and for how we choose to proceed.
By channeling our energy from forgiveness to acceptance we take charge of the situation. No need for apologies or approvals. Only our own choosing to move forward.
Today, think about your past, a situation or person you are struggling with. Identify how this plays out or repeats in your mind and hurts YOU. Then make a choice around choosing to accept (not agree or even like) and move on.
