Flexing our discomfort muscle allows us to grow. In doing so, we stretch beyond what is usual in order to experience more. More satisfaction, more connection, more learning and ultimately more of who we truly are.
In exploring beyond comfort, we can begin to identify, then step into our most authentic selves. We may also recognize that over-stretching may cause too much discomfort or even panic. The ability to try to go beyond while having the self-awareness to pull back when necessary is also an important part of our journey. It requires us to be fully present in order to listen to our inner voice and make mindful choices.
