Your Presence Map
Who you are. Where you are. And what being, not doing, is asking of you.
You are in the space between chapters. It is not empty. It is not a waiting room. This is how you find out what it is.
Being intentional is the difference between making choices that are aligned with who we are and falling into the inevitable shoulds of a hectic, fast-paced, always-connected world. When we are moving that fast, we rarely stop to notice who we have become, or where we actually are.
Your Presence Map is a 15-page reflection and acknowledgement exercise. It is not about your next chapter. It is about this one. The one you are in right now, that you may not have named yet.
Most high achievers treat a pause as something to get through. This invites you to treat it as something to get to know.
It is not an exercise of judgment or regret. You are allowed to like what you find.
What is inside
Part 1, Who I Am: two questions that start with the person, not the resume
Part 2, Where I Am: three questions about this chapter, without explaining or defending it
Part 3, Being vs. Doing: three questions about worth, aliveness, and what full actually means to you
The Presence Map itself: one page you print and keep, naming the season you are in, what you know to be true about you, what you are choosing on purpose, and what you are putting down
Fillable on your laptop or printable for longhand, whichever way you actually think
The ask
60 to 90 minutes, or a few shorter sittings. There is no deadline and no right answer.
FAQs
How long does it take? 60 to 90 minutes, or several shorter sittings. It may take days or a couple of weeks. Go slow.
Who is this for? Anyone in a stretch that does not have a name yet. Between roles. After an exit. After something ended, or before something starts. It also works if nothing has changed on the outside and something has changed on the inside.
Do I have to print it? No. The fields are fillable on screen. The Presence Map on the last page is meant to be printed and kept somewhere you will see it.
Is this goal setting? No. There are no goals in here and nothing to plan. This is about naming where you are and giving yourself credit for it. What comes next can come next.
Is this coaching? No. This is the reflection work that makes coaching useful. If it surfaces something you want support with, that is a conversation we can have.
What if something heavy comes up? It might. Some of these questions go further than they look, particularly the ones about worth. That is not a sign you did it wrong. It is a sign it matters. This is reflection work, not therapy, and some of what surfaces deserves real support. A coach, a therapist, or someone you trust.
